Hello 2013

Hello 2013!

I totally forgot I had started this blog in 2010 when I moved to Calgary. Thanks to my friend Christianne (or should I say twin sis) for getting me back!!

There's been lots of changes in my life since my last post 2-3 years ago. I've visited home in NS a few times since then. Mike and I have gone for a vacation for a week to BC and... I'm still working at that place. The place that I will NOT name.

I'm been promoted since my last post. I've become a Team Lead again and got promoted again to Programmer and promoted again to a Programming Lead.

Soooo it worked out for me to stay in the end... or did it.

You may ask why am I still working there, well here is your answer: I like working with the people I work closely with. I also like what I do. I just don't like anything else but I put up with it because of the things I like. I'm soon thinking it's now time to move on.

Here is why.

2013 has not started very good for me so far because of this place. This week at the place I've been told by upper management that we are going to have to let some of our employees go because we don't have enough money to keep paying everyone. You ask WHY we don't have any money to pay everyone?? Well because we have been paying for items that are unknown on the CEO's credit card. There was also mention of other things like the company car that our finance and audit manager drives, our CEO's tires, $1000 dollar dinners, etc. the list goes on... you would think that there would be a decision made to sell the company car and have the CEO pay for this own items that has nothing to do with our business. (A contact centre) but NO NO we will continue to pay for these things and fire the people who bring in the money.

I ask myself WHY?? and I cannot think of a logical reason for this. I just can't. I really wish I knew what they are thinking but then again.. do I?

Today, we let two people go. Tomorrow it may be three.

I have a feeling I may get demoted again and be asked to be a Team Lead or maybe even down to an agent answering the phone. I don't think they would actually fire me since I have done nothing wrong and I'm training on all the accounts and bilingual.

At this point, if they were to fire me, I would be upset at first and worried about how I'm going to pay the bills but it would give me an opportunity get out of that place and find another job. I may start sending resumes out on the weekend to get started just in case.

I'm not certain what kind of job that I want to get after I leave the place. I think I would love to be a receptionist or administrative assistance. I could also work at another contact centre possibly like Shaw or Telus but do I really want to?? If possible I think I should stay away from other contact centres just in case they are all the same.

I could also look at going to school but I wouldn't have money to pay my bills. I would have to find an easy none stress job to be able to take online courses so that's also something to think about.

I'm really not sure. We will have to see what happens.

But with this being said... you this case being typed. ;P I will leave you for tonight.

Di
